There are a few reasons for me to set up this blog:

• To have an online journal to pen down my experiences to step out of my comfort zone, mainly because I old-school
• To be coherent in my thoughts and opinions,and what better way to do so by posting it online where you actually start thinking writing those paragraphs
• To fully embrace social networks as a communications major (mind you, I only opened my Instagram account 6 months ago and my friends already said I was late to the game)
• To hone my writing skills (for the future!!)

Now, a short introduction of myself, to gauge about what kind of topics I might write about in this blog:

Ola!

I am currently majoring in Communications and New Media. I think whatever I’m learning is some pretty interesting stuff and I really enjoy it. Took more of the design modules that’s available even though I don’t think I’m very good at it. Learnt a lot and had a lot of fun creating brochures, games and designing mobile apps! Also took up Arabic and Chinese which was freaking tough, but I survived.

So much hard work was put into this piece, tiring but super satisfying.

I’ve also been lucky to have experienced hall life in my university, where I made a lot of really close friends and tried many new firsts in life. This was the place where I had to plan for basketball trainings , faced a few leadership dilemmas, played my first bongo, congas and cowbells (and actually performed in front of people for a concert), and learnt how to dance. So, I guess if one really wants to categorize life, I’ve been both a sports person as well as a cultural one, which I feel very thankful that I had the opportunity to try both out.

I’ve been playing basketball since I was 10. I guess it was the passion that kept me going at it (and getting into the schools that I want, not gonna lie). Basketball has always been a part of my life, and I do still have affinity and affection for it. RICKY RUBIO 4EVA. But my current focus has changed to dance. Dance has truly changed my life. But maybe I’ll save it for a later post.

Ah, almost forgot. Uminsummer came about because of I recently traveled to South Korea and Europe. Therefore Umi. In. Summer. Thus, I will most likely blog about my recent trips as well. Excited to post more on it!

One other thing that I should put as a disclaimer is that I am a HUGE FANGIRL. Fangirl of…a lot of people haha. But I assure you, I am not that weird. Just…quirky.
