I know what I did last Summer – Internship

Today marks the end of my 3 month stint with Starcom.

This was my second internship during my summer holidays, and in retrospect, I realized I’ve really grown a lot from this experience.

The job was tough. It was totally out of my comfort zone, handling so much data and analytics. Moreover, having to handle multiple ongoing accounts, creating media schedules, learning about media buys, boosting ads, OOH, reporting to clients etc. I was really quite overwhelemed sometimes.

And I have to admit I made a lot of horrible mistakes on the job, but the team always helped me out and made sure I was not left out. They were really nice and helped me resolve my stupid mistakes and explained what I have to do and all, despite their busy schedules.

My job scope barely touched the surface of their job scopes, especially in 3 short months. But I was already quite stressed out and had self doubts about being a competent and efficient working adult.

In my opinion, I feel that this job is meant for people who can multi-task well. Maybe, at this point of time, I don’t think I’m right for this job (maybe cause I’m extremely new to it) but I’m pretty sure I can’t run away from it if I do stay in the media industry.

But definitely I have no regrets going for this internship where I was lucky enough to have been in such a happy-going, friendly and enthusiastic team, and also found an easy going bunch of intern friends.Hoorah!!!
