Lexis Hibiscus Resort, Port Dickson, Malaysia

My fam had always wanted to visit Port Dickson one day. Right smack in the middle of my school semester,  we FINALLY found a common time slot to do it and YOLO-ed!

And so we were on a 4D3N getaway from 2/8-5/8 (Friday to Monday). YAHOO.

1. Getting There

We booked our room online @ Hotels.com. Just be careful and read the fine print before you purchase it cause we ended up booking just the room, with no breakfast (though we somehow sneakily did haha).

Transport wise, it would be good to have your own car, as the drive in to the resort is just lined up with trees. It’s like 20km away from the nearest civilization. But for those without (like me), we took Golden Coach. There are only 2 bus companies that goes from SG to Port Dickson. Call them if there’s no more seats left and they’ll open up a new bus for you, but at a pricer cost.

Bus fares: Between $35-40 one way,  not inclusive booking fee.

2. Check-In

During check in, we could only pay the deposit by cash or credit card. They have no money changer available here (and the nearest one is 20km away lol good luck).

Initially, I passed them my debit card but it got rejected, and then passed my credit card, but the noob staff thought they were the same and rejected both and we had a mini panic attack cause we would be left with half of our cash money if we paid the deposit in cash. Angry. And that same noob staff told us we had breakfast. (BUT NO).  Haha ok rant over.

14199539_10210438034777759_8330252170558980890_n.jpgWe booked the Premium Pool Villa. So it means our room is built on the sea and a bit further out from the main hotel building, and we basically used the buggy to get to our rooms and the main building. I mean you can walk too, but why do that when you can ride a buggy?

14232500_10210447674458745_2600161490023596756_n.jpgAlthough the buggy service will need a bit of waiting to fetch you, because they be fetching/sending other people too. I would say it’s not really their fault that the service is quite slow (cause reviews say this was what irked them the most), but more of the lame guests that were not even ready and still dared to call the buggy first and so have to wait for them for at least 15 mins?!?! First-hand experience here. (We had to wait for them on the buggy. RAWR.)  ok second rant over.  But trust me, the rest of the review below will be good, cause I easily satisfied. Hehe.

3. ROOM

img_0159img_0112img_0114img_0117

THE ROOM IS GORGEOUS GUYS. LOVE LOVE LOVE. As seen from my instagram stories and photos. Ok the room doesn’t look as big as in their photos,  but 2 king-sized beds with pretty damn good pillows + a flat screen tv makes it all goood. We overheard someone saying,”wah, bila baring atas bantal tu, tak leh dengar ape-ape seh”. (Not gonna translate,  cause i want malay privilege kthxbye)

Then as we walked in further, there’s this transparent floor that reveals the sea below us! It was real therapeutic looking at it, and we actually saw a school of small fishes there!

And the grand finale…. The indoor swimming pool! There’s also a sauna, but i mean pool > sauna anytime. Feeling feeling like at infinity pool a bit, and no other disgusting people can share the pool with you. YAY.

Btw, WIFI is darn good. No device limit, and it’s so freaking strong even at the beach. Brownie points!

 4. Food

Surprisingly, the food available is pretty cheap for a resort-ish kind of place. A meal cost about 10rm. There is the Roselle Coffee House, Umi Japanase Restaurant, and Hibiscus Walk hawker food.

And FYI, they will give complimentary canned drinks and a packet of muruku (which is pretty good according to my mum, we brought the leftovers back lol) and a pack of chocolate-filled cookies. yumz.

5. Amenities & Activities

Here’s a list of activities that you can actually do if you wanna take a break from your indoor private pool!

Archery, Bicycle, Bubbles, Complimentary Tour, Fire Performance, Helicopter Ride, Karaoke, Photo Booth, Playground, Segway, YoYo Ride, Water Fountain Show, Water Sports

Complimentary Tour:

There are two 2-hour bus trips that the hotel provides daily, at 10am and another at 12pm. They will take you to two attractions and then bring you back to the hotel. We have to sign up at the concierge. Our trip was to the Army Museum and some plaza with shophouses and a supermarket. That’s it pretty much. Though on weekdays the tour will take you to the ostrich farm. It was ok…. Didn’t really have time to really look at the exhibitions but the sheer size of army vehicles no joke man. The airplane looks freaking scary I kept imagining if flying over my head and dropping the equally huge missiles. Overall, not the best tour ever but if you are want to get out to visit the supermarket (without a car), well that’s your free trip to get there.

Fire Performance:

The sports & recreation team are double agents-staff by day and fire performers by night. Haha it was cool. Apparently they only perform over the weekends.

Helicopter Ride:

I honestly think this is genius marketing to attract people haha. You get to ride on a helicopter and watch the aerial view of the resort. They say you’ll be in the air for about 6mins.Of course it comes with price.

Photo Booth:

For 10rm,  you get to have yourself photoshopped with the Lexis Hibiscus Resort. I mean cute la, for memories. Only 1 possible background view so you can’t be picky.

Water Fountain:

Unfortunately, they rarely have the water fountain show that’s by the beach because the thrust is so strong that the water would actually splash onto the windows of nearby resorts lol. So people complained. Haha strong complain,  weak also complain.

Water Sports:

Because the resort is expanded to the sea, there wasn’t much room for water sports.  Like they had to limit the jet ski from 6 to 2 cause it was too crowded with everything else plus other resorts also have their own water sports. Kinda disappointed with the variety, though i did get to see some jellyfish on the boat ride. The previous resort that I went to (Turi Beach Resort) had way more fun water sports stuff.

Overall,  I would rate the room GORGEOUS and the activities and food as…  not bad?? Would definitely go there again for the indoor swimming pool,  good wifi connection,  and the peaceful vibe.

Made a video compilation below! (Forgive me for the bad footage and editing but hey, I tried)
