HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam (3D2N)

Visited the HARRIS Resort Barelang Batam back in October 2018, in lieu of the October babies in the family. We stayed for 3 days 2 night, but also headed out one of the days with our regular driver in Batam.

Got a free birthday slice!

Getting There

Since the resort was located in Batam and not Bintan, we departed from Harbourfront Ferry Terminal in SG to Batam Centre Ferry Terminal.

Upon arrival at the terminal, look for a staff (wearing orange as it is their resort colour) with a Harris Signboard to book a seat on their free shuttle bus. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the resort.

Address: WateTembesi, Sagulung, Batam City, Riau Islands 29439, Indonesia

Accommodation

We booked a Villa, mainly because the Villa is the only room type with a private pool (with jacuzzi features too!). Do look out for promotions, as there were discounts when we booked directly through their website.

The Villa is a two-storey luxurious home with plenty of space everywhere. When you enter the Villa, you will be greeted with a living room with sofa and smart TV, and two large bedrooms with a common balcony.

Sigh, I wish I had a balcony at home too:

I really appreciated their amenities. The TV had wide range of channels from their cable television including international channels, sports and YouTube! They had a minimalist concept, with the toilets in its best condition.

The rooms are fitted nicely with the Harris orange and white theme too.

Head down the stairs to greet a kitchen with a fridge, stove, utensils and a dining table, the pool and another long balcony! It truly is a space for your to relax, or snack by the pool. Bringing a portable speaker or a ukulele helps to lift the mood too!

View from the stairs

We truly had a lot of fun playing in the water. Spot the ample space along the same balcony behind us, perfect for a party!

We spent about S$450 for 2 nights in total. While we didn’t get the Barelang Bridge view, the view of the sun and sea were still amazing!

Food

We had breakfast at Harris Cafe in the main building. The staff put up daily performances with simple steps to hype the crowd in the main building, during welcoming or breakfast or dinner etc. Very cute!

Have a bbq dinner buffet by the pool at Rocksalt Beach Club. Or head out to nearby seafood restaurants too. We went to Kopek Jaya 007 Kelong.

Activities

They had a small mini mart to buy snacks and drinks at the lobby. Nearby, there are also comfortable swings and sofas to relax outside.

Or visit the swimming pool.

Or play at the beach.

When you are at the beach, take some time to visit the beautiful Bay House. It is actually a wedding chapel/ event space by the sea, which makes for great views.

There are land and sea sport activities but I think it stopped due to the rain. I’ve seen archery, and beach balls around. I think there are water activities too but didn’t try them out.

Review

The Great

  • Very Instgrammable everywhere (see photos below)
  • Views, View, Views that instantly boost your mood
  • Well-designed open spaces, coupled with big spacious rooms to relax at
  • Private pool! (Only for Villa)
  • Friendly staff

The Uh-Oh

  • Would be great if there are games that can be rented or available in the rooms
  • Not the biggest beach around
  • Not many activities

Overall, I had a real good time at HARRIS resort!
